The Messy Side Braid
If you’re looking for a quick and easy hairstyle that looks like it requires a lot more skill than it does, you can’t go wrong with a messy braid. A perfectly tousled braid has a boho vibe to it that makes your look seem effortless, but still extremely cool. I personally prefer a messy braid over a sleeker version – I think braids look best with a little bit of volume, escaped flyaways, and loose strands. A slicked back, every-hair-in-place braid is obviously still awesome (and kudos to anyone who can manage to create one!), but those tend to take more time and sometimes even more effort. A messy braid? You want it to look mussed up, which automatically makes things a little more simple.
This hairstyle is also so versatile. Paired with a fancy dress, nice earrings, and great makeup, it can work for a night out. Worn with a flannel and a pair of jeans, it looks comfy and cute. See? You can rock it no matter where you’re going. Of course, the easiest messy braid is the traditional three-strand braid that’s been made to look tousled – but that doesn’t mean you can’t switch things up a little bit and try different styles.
